— Ensure all cell values are broken up logically

Duration 20 minutes

— Activate Mail Merge wizard
— Select the appropriate Excel spreadsheet
— Insert data fields from Excel into the Word document
— Execute Mail Merge

Application: Word
Duration 10 minutes

—Evaluate results of Mail Merge
—Fix letter or data values as needed
—Re-execute Mail Merge until all errors are removed.

— Open Access database and located data table/query
— Use shortcut to export data to Excel
— Alter data from Access, if desired
— Save Excel file with a memorable name
— Create a letter from scratch
— Choose the new Excel spreadsheet
— Merge documents together
— Evaluate results
— Fix letter or data values as needed
— Discuss why this method may be necessary

— Connect to Access database directly from Word Mail Merge
— Merge documents together

Duration 10 minutes

— Save the original letter (with merge fields)
— Do not save the merged letters (unnecessary clutter)
— Save the Excel spreadsheets
— Access automatically saves, and can simply be shut down

— Create a letter from scratch
— Create a spreadsheet from scratch
