While the primary goal of every business is to make money, I see my business as an opportunity to help people who are normally unable to afford training and education. In the months and years to come, you will see a list of individuals and institutions who have received assistance from me, without fee, along with their stories and reports on their progress.

The Enterprising Kitchen is a non-profit business in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago. They provide employment and life skill training to women who are working towards self-sufficiency and independence. On a daily basis, these women learn to run a soap making business, and apply this physical activity with communication skills training and technology instruction.

On the surface, soap may seem like a simple thing, but it requires a knowledge of chemistry, fractions, weights, workplace safety, quality control, product testing, shipping and handling and interpersonal communications. This real-life experience allows each participant the opportunity to see how an entire business works, from the ground up, and makes for an incredibly rewarding educational experience for the women in the program.
